Diving - Key Largo, a location also known as the "Diving Capital of the World" boasts the first undersea park in history - John Pennekamp State Park. Key Largo has been protected from spear fishing and coral collection for four decades and is an integral portion of the 2,800-square-nautical-mile Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary six miles offshore. Key Largo also features six unique Sanctuary Preservation Areas (SPA's) where even hook and line fishing is prohibited. Famous snorkel and dive sites include Spiegel Grove wreck dive, Statue of Christ of the Abyss and Molasses Reef.
Fishing - The waters of Key Largo are teeming with some of the world's most sought after game fish. More than 10 percent of the IGFA saltwater line class and fly fishing world records have been set in the Florida Keys.
Eco Tours - The waters around Key Largo are an ecologically fascinating place where freshwater from the Everglades mixes with the saltwater of Florida Bay. Everglades National Park abuts the near-shore waters of Key Largo to the west providing a home for an array of wildlife including bottle-nosed dolphin, crocodiles, sea turtles, alligators, and manatees.
